Bryan and I were finally able to take a MUCH needed vacation. We spent all last week in Overton, Nevada. Where is that you ask? About 45 minutes north of Las Vegas. Bryan's grandparents on his mom's side and a lot of his aunts and uncles and distant relatives from both sides of his family live out there. Bryan's cousin was getting married and his parents were going down for the wedding, so he thought it'd be the perfect excuse to get away as well. By get away, Bryan means go to the lake. Anyone who really knows Bryan knows the love he has for the lake. It's held a special place in his heart since he can remember.
This is him playing on the boat in his swimming gear when he was about 3.So Wednesday, April 16th we headed out after Bryan finished his B.O.M final. We were kind of nervous about taking Bella on her first road trip and really didn't know what to expect. She slept ALL the way to St. George. After that we only stopped to feed her one other time (just off the exit to Overton). She did SO well! The next two days were spent boating on Lake Mead. Since before Bella was even a thought in our minds, Bryan had decided that our kids were going to share in his love of wakeboarding. I, on the other hand, am not so convinced. So when Bella was born, Bryan's parents told us at the hospital that they were planning on getting her a life jacket for the upcoming summer(which is only suiting for Bryan's little girl). The jacket is sooo cute-- it's tiny and pink and purple-- and it's the ONLY way she was allowed in the boat. Bella didn't seem to mind the jacket, but she did NOT like the wind (I think she was destined for that because both Bryan and I can't stand wind-- however, the wind is like Bryan's arch enemy because it means white caps and no wakeboarding).
Bryan was excited to wakeboard and wakesurf. The water was still a little too cold for me to get in-- about 63 degrees most of the time. But I did enjoy watching him as well as playing on the beach and working on my much needed tan. Needless to say, the vacation was so nice. Just to be where is was warm and nice weather was a great change of scenery. We can't wait to get out on the boat again!
